As two of the most popular personalities in The Block’s history, Mitch and Mark have indeed made their mark on
Australia’s design landscape. Lighting up the screen in 2019, Mitch and Mark set a new standard for the Australian
reality series in terms of design innovation, and instantly connecting with audience with their zest for life.

When invited to return to The Block for the 2021 series of Fans vs Faves, their enthusiasm was immediate. “They offered
us a few days to think about it,” explains Mitch. “But we were in!”

PROJECT BRIEF

There was a discussion around home design and interiors in the post COVID world, with the home being the sanctuary and what the sanctuary could provide to the homeowner.

THE RESPONSE

We worked with Mitch and Mark’s existing floor plan, working with them to set out the format of the steam room that would create a day spa effect for a relaxing retreat.

The Specification

An iSteam 3 system to add to the saleability of the home,

complete with:

A steam generator for a 7 to 9.5 cubic metre space
Satin brass steam outlets to coordinate with tapware
Audio speakers for sound therapy, relaxation and enjoyment
Aromatherapy for respiratory wellness and emotional wellbeing
Wi-Fi connectivity for remote access on a mobile device
Lighting and extraction fan advice

INSTALLATION PROCESS

The installation process was hectic because of the number of people working in the room during this stage of the build, and because of the short and strict timeline. However the execution was extremely well planned by Mitch and Mark and the builder which resulted in the steam room being delivered in ahead of schedule.
